Growing up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Wyoming,
Ron developed his passion for color and design.

Studying at the Al Collins Graphic Design School in Tempe, Arizona he earned
his degree in graphic arts, sharpening his watercolor skills and artistic vision.

In 1989, Ron’s design skills landed him a job with US West Direct as a senior graphic designer. In 1994, he teamed with 3 other talented artists’ and formed Graphics 4 Design in Scottsdale, Arizona.

But as the temperature and deadlines continued to rise in the desert,
Ron became convinced that his heart belonged in the mountains.

He relocated to Glenwood Springs, Colorado where he would spend most of his time
fly fishing, snowboarding, golfing and learning the art of watercolor.

Ron’s connection in the publishing business landed him in Friday Harbor, Washington.
Where he is currently the assistant publisher and advertising director of the Journal.

In 2004, Ron teamed with Kristy Gjesme with GreenWinds Studio located
above San Juan Framing in downtown Friday Harbor.

Ron’s work has been shown at San Juan Frame & Gallery, Bison Gallery in
Friday Harbor, WA and Fusions Gallery in Ocean Shores, WA. His commissioned work appears in private collections throughout the western states.
